The thought kinda crossed my mind after seeing all the ATB, state and territory coins in the box. There were some coins that I hadn't paid attention to or seen in hand before like the El Yunque coin - so beautiful! It definitely could be a fun side to the usual silver hunt.

The box with the ender turned up 5 roosies, and the second box gave me one roosie. Not a bad night!

Edit: I let my 6 year old daughter open the roll with the ender - she was pretty excited to "find one"!

doing lots of penny rolls at moment. so far this week the big prize is an 1876 IH g-vg and a very nice F+ 1931-s wheat. got 10 more rolls coming in this week as well as a bag of arcadia quarters "S" from the mint to sort through so might turn into a very very good week

I've been to five banks and they all told me that they were unable to order halves...ugh! What is the deal?

You've just found 5 dump banks, which is the hard part. Now you only have to find one bank that will order halves and you're set.

3 boxes of halves - all SKUNKS. My bank got a new shipment last Friday. They have no marks and are yellow wrappers like the previous batch but that makes 8 skunks in a row. I am trying to work thru this bunch. I think my head teller orders 10 at a time so maybe only 2 more to go.

I was hot and now things are leveling out. We are having a huge month even with 8 skunks in a row. HOTN put a spell on me. Just kidding I know it runs in cycles and we are doing the volume so hopefully we will see some SILVER again SOON!

    Good Luck Everyone.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure what you mean by "dump banks"...(Sorry, I am new to this).

He's saying that since they won't order for you, you now have 5 good places to dump all your halves ordered from other places. No harm dumping at those banks.

And legally, according to Mr. Murphy's famous law, that dump bank will either hand them out to some rollsearcher who asks for halfs. Or have them taken off to wherever surplus coins go, only to be packed up to send to another bank for some rollsearcher to end up with.

    Today's results:

    $4 Pennies: 76 Copper, 2 Canadian, 1942D, 1951D.

    $10 Nickles: 1940P, 1952S, 1958P.

    $15 Dimes: Skunk.

$350 Quarters: Skunk. Plenty of Oklahoma ATBs, every one a D, when they know I need the P.

    $200 Dollars: Skunk.

Picked up my Wednesday box of halves. Thought it would be a dump box, but Jessica the vault person had called off for the day. So I was able to walk with a sealed box. Results = 1-68d, clad proof 1992, & 5 nifc's. Friday Jessica was back so I got the dump box. Skunked. I was able to put away 11 coins for my roll collection. Boys & Girls, while I'm on this site I would like to call your attention to the May 21,2012 issue of COIN WORLD. On the front page the headlines;" Testimony cites savings from using steel" the following text: " switching to a steel-layered composition for all circulating U.S. coin denominations would save millions of dollars annually in production costs', a consultant testified April 17 before a House Banking Subcommittee hearing on "The Future of Money": Coin Production. The point being that when come across a nice coin in your roll search, maybe you should set it aside for bad money always pushes out good money......40%ers pushed out 90%ers, copper-nickel pushed out 40%ers, and steel will push out copper-nickel....the final decision will be made in December. Quick Tip; When I need money to pay for boxes

Ahhh...now I see! Thank you for clarifying for me! It sometimes just seems that they don't "want to" order them...but I could be wrong.

I bought two $1,000 bags of dimes today. both bags had extra in them as well as silver :)!

Bag 1: $1,004.91 total, including 7 rosies, and a worn down indian head cent the size of a dime!
Bag 2: $1,013.75 total, including 3 rosies, one canadian 80% (and the bag had a nickel in it LOL)

...I'm going to pick up more of these bags soon, and hopefully I don't get shorted!

Two boxes of halves: Nothing. Did spot my first 2012 half, though.

And yeah, I get the feeling that some banks just don't want to bother ordering boxes so they say they can't. Some have legitimate excuses, physical size of the vault, cost of ordering extra coin, etc., so I give them the benefit of the doubt. One even showed me their currency order form, and it didn't have halves listed! But once you do the legwork and get your pickup and dump system set up you can keep it going for a while.

Very nice bags, pballer! How did 137 extra dimes get in there?
