1917 SLQ, Natural or Artifical Tone?????

    This coin was posted on my site and I wanted to get the experts opinion. Is this Natural tone or Artifical??? This is the only photo. Thanks gang.

    I don't have a clue - it looks like older coins i've seen that spent time in albums but I'm a rookie to coin collecting, period. Thats a gorgeous coin though imo, thanks for posting it

    Like I said above this is not my coin, it was posted on my site and that is the only photo, Im just trying to find out about the tone Natural or Artificial.

    It looks natural but the picture looks juiced... I'd bet it doesn't look that nice in hand.

    Looks like natural album toning. Unfortunately, judging by the single photo you've provided, the coin may have been dipped before being stored in the album for decades.

    If there's any way for you to obtain a reverse photo, that'd be very helpful. :)
