A couple of dollars..... These are'nt uncommon in this grade..... Always remember it's not age it's rarity and quality.
You can get an 1899 IHC in similiar grade and contion out of the "dollar bin" at my local dealer. It's still a cool coin that's over 110 years old though. Just think who held that cent when it was new. What was the world like when it came out of the mint? No cars on the streets, just horses and buggies, in fact most of the roads back then were dirt, no airplanes, no interstate, no computers, no TV, no radio, kids wearing knickerbockers, we still had real cowboys out west, people played football without helmets, and I don't think the forward pass was allowed yet. A lot of the commercial ships on the ocean were still under the power of sail. If that coin could talk, it would tell you a story of times gone by.
were i live, its such a small town that we do not have a coin dealer at all, the nearest city is 45 mins away and i have never heard of a coin dealer being there either. thats my problem. they may be common but the fact as in im 19 years old and owning a penny that is 110 yrs old is amazing.
Hey there bd Im from polk county about two hours from chatt. I been out your way a few times when I can find my way out of the hills. There should be alot of coin dealers in Chatt and Cleveland area.
