Dad just took these out of his safe deposit box. These have been in there since the 70s/80s. What do we have here? Anything of worth? I am new to this and am very much hooked on coins/silver now!

Most of these are sets, so we have two to three of each.

    Thanks!!

Very nice collection of coins. I would take them and get them appraised. Some of the coins could be worth a good amount, depending on the mint marks and what not, plus you have a lot of silver.

That 1937 half in the second shot looks outstanding! The half at the right of the first shot also looks promising, but we'd need a closer shot to tell.

If you haven't already heard, don't try to clean anything.

    Very nice collection!

    Welcome Synyster

You have a nice start to a nice collection

One of the first things I think you need to do, is get them coins out of them 2x2 holders as they are the ones that contain PVC, which will harm your coins

I agree, that is a nice looking Walker in that 2nd photo. I thought for sure it was an ASE, until I clicked on the photo and read the date. And those 25 gram silver bars are strange. That's about .8 troy ounces. Never seen them in that size.
Yeah, nice collection. I would may get some of those coins out of those flips and put them in airtites or 2x2s. I'm not sure if those flips are inert, but I'd hate to have some of those coins get PVC damage.

EDIT: KoinJester beat me to it.

If the coins have been in them for 30-40 years, they would have already been ruined if PVC was present. The flips probably don't contain PVC, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Check the 1964 Kennedy half dollar to see if the left side of the base of the "I" in UNITED is broken away. If it is, it is an "Accented Hair" variety. If there is doubling on "IN GOD WE TRUST", "LIBERTY", the date and his hair at the top of his head, it is the FS-103. If there is no doubling, it is FS-401.

Hang on to the 1987 P&D Kennedy half dollars. The only way you could get them that year was in the Uncirculated Mint Set. They were not made for general circulation.

I want to get these out of the PCV. Where can I buy new holders over the counter, without having to order?

You would have to go to a local coin shop. Although, my local hobby shop does carry some stuff. So you could give that a try.
