Not much to tell really. 32 year old guy from South-Eastern Michigan. I'm an Artist Painter, Graphic designer, and work in the sign industry. YAY! Exciting right!

I'm also fourth generation Coin Collector, Roll Searcher, Metal Detecting, SilverBug bitten guy. My Grandpa started his collection god knows when. According to my mother, her Grandma had a pickle jar FULL of Indian Head Pennies. Oh to just have a hand full of those today!

I stack a little Silver when I can, but am slowly growing an interest in smaller denomination coin variety's. Let's face it, unless you get incredibly lucky, the Silver is pretty much picked out of Half Dollar's and I grow tired of that annoyed bank teller saying "We don't have any Dollar or Half Dollar Rolls". When you ask for Quarters and Pennies they don't flinch.

When Silver is cheap I buy junk Silver and call it a day. I try to always get a 1oz. Silver Eagle & Maple Leaf each year. I'm learning to buy more sensibly now and I like the challenge of finding that rare variety more than the thrill of a roll of 40% Halves. If you look at the melt value of some of those Halves(at the time of writing Spot Silver is at $18.50). They only come out to around $3.50 in melt value Silver. Compared to finding that extremely rare '69 D/D/D/O Penny. I think you can see which is more fun.

Not to say I don't hunt rolls of Half Dollars when I can find them. I'm just not going to be spending all day going over boxes of Brink's rolls only to find Clad. My time is worth a little more money to me than that.

I'm a total newbie when it comes to Metal Detecting, but I want that to change. If you are in the Detroit or SE Michigan area lets meet up! I'd love to go on a hunt with someone who knows a bit more about the hobby. It is definitely more fun to hunt with someone to share the adventure and watch your back when you're headphones are bleeping away and you don't see that mamma Bear and her Cubs. Mostly I just collect the clad at the kids playground, but I plan on doing some beach hunting when the weather gets a bit warmer.

I guess that's about it. Nothing I can think of right now off the top of my head. If you want to know more shot me a message and lets be friends.

    Cheers!
    Rob McC
