Hey newbie, sorry for taking so long to respond. I use a 30x36 magnifier to view my coins and a microscope for even closer looks. I've notice also about the die crack/chip thing, must be to many out there. I do however run across a large die chip one in awhile that I sell on e-bay, just sold a 08 reverse die chip cent for 20.00 not a bad return. Got a 07 on e-bay now, I will wait to see what happens there.
My photo's aren't that great, I use the microscope with the camera lens up against the eye piece for the close up's and the magnifier up against the camera lens for the whole coin shots.
In the picture is the magnifier and a 30x loupe, my scale also.

Sonny, I'm an EOD tech. 16 yrs in AF and another 14+ as a civilian. Supported numerous A/C over the years. Mostly TAC as I didn't want a SAC assignment and have to deal with all the alerts associated with them. Overseas was mostly in Turkey and last one was in Korea. Talking about military is fine with me. I consider it patriotism. There should be more! LOL. Went down w/bypass in 2005 and been down since with other things. Basically, health went downhill after bypass. I chat on there yahoo, mostly if you ever go there. maverick464 is the handle.

I've done all sorts of photography since 79 and am real curious how to get pix of my coins. Digital macro or just scan them with a printer? Open to anyones suggestion/knowledge!

Bomber, were you in military? Your screen name suggests a connection with bomber aircraft. Did you work on bombers or fly on them or just an admirer of them. I spent 20 yrs in AF and worked on B47s, B-52s, C-130s and C-141s. As you can see, I like to talk about the military. As for coins, I also collect both Indian and Lincoln cents. I also collect Morgans, Mercury dimes, Walking Liberty halves, silver libertys etc. I can't seem to settle on any one type of coin to collect. One day I probably will. Sorry to be so long winded.
