    Is this worth anything?

I'm new to the forum and new to coin collecting. I've been browsing the forums for a while. I haven't see any partial dates quite like this. Thanks for your time! DSC_0577-4.jpg DSC_0577-3.jpg

The error is a struck through error. Something (likely grease) got stuck in the die and prevented a full strike of the date.

Thanks non_cents. I didn't really know the term to search for. That's very helpful!

Since nobody else has said it yet, welcome to Coin Talk. A post with excellent photos of something interesting is always appreciated.

The coin exidently has circulated for quite some time. Does it have a wheat or memorial reverse?

Try a Black+ White photo if you camera will do B+W.
;) sometimes that will show what was meant to be their 1_,2_,3_,4_,5_.

I do see the faint outlines of possible "41" that Snowman was referring to. Another way to possibly see is to simply convert the existing color photo to monochrome (black & white) and then start dialing up the contrast.

Cropped one more time . I do see what could be a 4 but a bit to big size wise?

I used Lightroom and applied an infrared filter. It didn't help a whole lot, but I think I can see a faint 4. I may try to overlaying a 4 from another coin and see how it fits. I feel like I should be in a forensics lab.
