Coin is for sale on a dealers site for $70. It's listed as "NGC- UNC Details , Surface Hairlines. Though there are a few faint scratches, nothing leaps out at me. Would this coin grade correctly if sent to PCGS? Worth about $140 if graded correctly.
Just please don't complain if you end up buying the coin and in-hand the hairlines look more noticeable, and you blame the seller for "pics that don't capture the coin correctly"...
The scratches that stand out to me most are on the reverse between the face and trident. I think I would need to see it in hand with a loop to determine if it would be worthy of a regrade. I would probably say it is accurately graded now based on the pictures.
You crack me up lol I guess you think you can grade a coin better from a picture then a professional grader does in hand... lol This coin did grade correctly and it would again, yes. But buy it, send it in, and show me I"m wrong lol
I predict that he will buy the coin, get it in hand and accuse the seller of fraudulently inflating the grade of the coin.
Only one way to find out. Buy the coin and send it to pcgs to grade. Tip: break it free before you send it in. I don't believe it has a snowballs chance in (that hot place down below)'s to regrade from this details holder.
Ok I don't collect these coins but I agree with this guy. Now I must say you should buy a coin because you like it and it appeals to in your price range, If you want something MS6* then you should buy something MS6*. Unless you got mad skills and can grade something in hand, on the spot at a show or a shop.
