HOTN - Remember I've only been at this since about Mid-May. I've just been hammering the dimes when I don't have halves (which has been a lot this month). I'm having some good luck with dimes at Wells Fargo branches. If you have them up your way, I'd pick up a box or two from them. Some have been hitting 4 consistently. I've only had 1 skunk from them so far. As happy as I am with the Dimes...I want my halves to start producing again! I'll have more boxes on Thursday. So, here's hoping!

Okay I had to take a break for a few days and cool off Ican't even believe my bad luck as of late I just started roll searching againafter a few years off and yes the stats are this. Past 32 boxes of halves(32,000 coins in all) CLAD. I also changed pace and did 2 boxes of dimes justto see if my luck would change and both skunks so 34 boxes of coins andnothing. I did not place a single order this week for coins as I just couldn'tgo through another week of this. My wife can tell my mood is not good I try todo this for fun but you have to mix a few coins in now and then to have fun. SoI took it upon myself to not be in a bad mood this week.

For those of you that had said someone was ordering too many boxes yes theyneed to spread it around I order 2 boxes per bank as that is the only way theywill order for me. I MUST order 2 boxes or they won't do the order. I'm quitelucky as I have about $2000 to play with so to speak I pick up 2 orders (4boxes) search them as quickly as possible then turn around and spread out thosecoins in the amount of $500 per bank at my drops so I don't make too much of apain of myself. I'm lucky I have 3 accounts set up at different banks in myarea and within a 10 mile drive of east or west of where I live I can drop offat 9 locations and I even have had a little luck of dropping at places I don'thave an account but I have never tried and pressed my luck by giving them toomuch. The biggest pain of not finding anything is that I have rewrap everythingas I'm not lucky to live near a bank that has a coin machine for customerbecause if so I would get an account there in a heartbeat. Getting this muchclad would not be so bad if I didn't have to rewrap. All in all I think I willgo out tomorrow or for sure on Thursday as my part time job has me going to alocation about 40 miles from where I live and do some stopping in at the localbanks and just seeing what they have on hand.

One last note yes all the boxes I have gotten lately have been factory sealedand factory wrapped so I'm not going through someone’s dump. I also will add Idid however get in all those boxes

I honestly have no interest in these but since I do this to make a few extrabucks while things have been slow do these have any bit of value what so everabove the .50 they are worth or not? And if they do what is the best way to getrid of them as I have sold many coins via Craigslist but don't think these willdraw much attention there. The coins have obliviously been circulated but arestill in very nice condition. Thanks all and good luck in your searches...

So worked a concert last night at my casino and with my tips I got $360 in halves I found only I 68, But I found the most shiny 78 s I've ever seen come out of a roll. Aside from a few prints on it is clean, mirror finish. I'm happy don't know if its worth anything but I'll keep it!

For sure you have been hammering the dimes. If I lived closer to a TD where I could dump more than once a week my searching numbers would be way up. This week so far I have actually been having trouble finding boxes of dimes that banks would sell me. There is a small WF branch 10 minutes away from where I work. I think I'll try and hit it up on my lunch break and see if they have a box they will sell me. Good luck with you halves and hopefully they will start producing for you again. I'm like a kid looking forward to a vacation with the anticipation of CRHing like mad on Friday morning. I better find some silver!

Ok, partial bag of $45 off a machine in bank lobby.

    Results:
    Total halves 43.50
    Silver: Two 40% Kennedy halves
Trash: one Wells Fargo bank token
    one car wash vacuum token
    five mangled pennies
    Foreign: One $2 Canadian coin
Result: I made somewhere between $9 and $10 on a $45 investment. This will work just fine.

Just finished another box; this one had a very good condition 1986-S "Nation of Immigrants" Commemorative (also some silver and NIFC's). That's two boxes in a row with commemorative issues. Anyone interested in these?

colligoergosum I collect, therefore I am

I just found a commemorative too - my first! It's a 1995 clad Basketball XXVI Olympiad half. I also found a 1980 proof and 2 NIFCs in the same box, but skunked on silver.

How does everyone search through rolls so fast? Are you just looking at the date then moving on? I've been checking each one by eye checking date, looking for major errors/varieties, etc, then going back and checking each one with my loupe looking for inconspicuous errors. Takes about 2 hours to do 1 roll this way. I'm thinking about checking each coin just one time with the loupe. What does NIFC mean?

wow, normanite, so to search a box of halves at your pace it would take you a little over four days straight, basically a 9-5 job for 2 weeks. lol. when I am searching rolls of halves I check each date and if it isn't pre-1970, 1987, or post-2001 I pass it over. It takes me about 15-30 minutes to look through a box of halves containing 50 rolls. I guess for me its just not worth putting in the extra time to find an error/variety.

When I happen to do a little roll-searching I cherry-pick it for errors and Wheat! I usually onyly get about $10 dollars worth of pennies at a time though... :smile

I'm doing the exact same thing, but I'm doing a box of 50 in just under an hour...

Please provide step by step instructions for your searching method. Please.

    My best day of dimes:

I searched 2 boxes of dimes which produced 9 total Silver Rosies (6 in one box - my best to date...one roll had 2 dimes in it) and I got one more reject silver dime at TD Bank.

    Here are the finds:

1 x 1946 (This thing is in great shape)
    1 x 1947
    2 x 1959
    1 x 1960
    1 x 1961
    1 x 1963
    3 x 1964

Tomorrow I get my fee based boxes of Halves from Wells Fargo. Can't wait to see that...I got the dimes there today. So, hoping my silver streak continues!

HAHA! I know. That's why I was floored when I was reading the quantity that you are searching. I usually search cents-quarters.
