something I just notice on Canadian cents is the oldest age portrait on the queen on the last cent most modern cent. It's obvious I have not been looking at the reverse sides of modern Canadian cents until now.

I didn't find them in a roll, but a customer came in the store today. His bill was something like $10.09 and he paid with 4 pennies. Three out of four of them were wheats: 1942-D, 1946-D, 1956-P.

    Today's work finds:
    15 wheats: 1917, 1935, and the rest 40's and 50's
1959D silver dime. Found it less than 2 minutes after I started my shift at 7am this morning. Brightened my work day :)

Two rolls of halves from a bank. Thought I would just be dumping them all into the coin machine, whoops there was a '68-D which was forcibly retired from circulation by moi.

It always makes my day better when I find silver at work. Even a horrible day can become a decent one when I find something interesting.

Haven't found any silver, but I have pulled $10+ in BU state quarters don't know why that many are showing up. Found two full date Buffs 1937 and 1938. Also 30 wheats not bad for a week at work. Also found a '71 IKE $ in the coinstar reject bin.

Finally scored a war nickle 1943 from a roll. Also after $600.00 in halves one %40 kennedy. Well worth the effort and fun.

i finally got around to sorting the bag of dimes from the coin counter at the bank (a couple weeks back, i posted about these estate coin dumps that were full of silver). i thought i had scavenged most of the silver from this bag of dimes, but i was wrong. i pulled 50 silver dimes from it today while putting it into rolls, including three merc's ('26, '28, '43). this addition to the pile puts my total silver weight at 5.235 pounds--finally broke that 5lb mark :)

76+ oz and all the other cool stuff you got. I'm super jealous. I like that you pulled an entire roll of dimes from one bag. I have searched $18,090 worth so far this year and have only come up with 61...

you searched $18,090 worth and only got 61 ??? wow I'd say that bank has been picked over.... or did you search many banks ?

That's one Roosie for every ~$290 searched. Not great but not horrible from what I understand. I get dimes from about 6 different banks.

I think I have searched 5 $250 boxes and $300 loose brw and have found 12 so far. I know that seems like so little but I still enjoy the hunt. I did not mention the 5 foreign coins. + many Canadian dimes and cents.

@furryfrog: i've been very lucky this last 30 days. if not for the estate coin dump, my 2014 total would be around half a dozen silver roosies and maybe a couple war nickels, and nothing else.

Those aren't bad results. I was doing pretty good at the start of the year but I've had several weeks where I had 4 or 5 skunk boxes in a row before finding 3-4 in a box. I'm still waiting for my 5+ box :)
