Somebody spent a 40% 1967 half dollar with a hole in the top at the store I work in. I bought it and made a necklace out of it.

At work today I had to open up a new box of pennies. I had a few quarters in my pocket so I decided to take two rolls home because one of the rolls had a wheat on the end. When I got opened them up I was amazed at how many copper pennies there were. The first roll had 27 coppers and the second roll had 41! Only 2 wheats in the 2 rolls but that was a nice copper percentage, 68%! I guess it makes up for the 2 boxes of 2014 cents we went through at the store last week. We had another 2014 box in the vault but I decided to grab the other box because I was able to spot the wheat ender peaking through the box.

Much to my chagrin, the other day the boss brought in a box of pennies consisting of nothing but 2014 pennies. I think we finally used them all up though.

$78 in customer wrapped halves and I found 33 40%ers! One of my biggest scores ever! Can't believe that people still throw these away!

    3rd and 4th boxes of nickels for the week - skunk city. An 09P & 09D, a few pre-60 keepers including a 1950 plain. Also a Bermuda 5c and Bahamas 5c.

After next week's order of nickels I'm going to cut back. They haven't been producing enough for me to keep doing the volume that I do.

4 rolls of nickels: kept nothing. best was a beat up 1952 (P).

Did get a 1942-D penny in change today though, so there's that.

Are the '09 nickels really worth saving? I find them all the time. I've been sticking them back, not because I like them (the current nickel's obverse is the ugliest side of a coin that I've ever seen) but because somebody on here said that they're scarce. If anybody wants some circulated '09 nickels I have some to trade.

They aren't "rare" but they do have the lowest mintage since the 50's.
    2009P - 39,840,000
    2009D - 46,800,000

I hate the new nickel design and think that Jefferson looks like a zombie but I keep atny 09's that I run across since they are fairly uncommon, at least around me.
