rare(ish) Anchialus provincial of Caracalla

hi all, here is a coin i recently picked up. thought it was kind of interesting, hadn't seen one just like it before....kind of a strange reverse.

here are the seller pics, mine are worse than my usual even.





kind of a rough, ugly obverse...but a sweet lookin' reverse really exept for the scratch. hate it when this coin goes, but i love watchin' it leave.

Seller had the attribution as varbanov 306, but it didn't quite seem right. I coudn't find this coin anywhere online. Luckily, someone with a copy of varbanov ii gave me the hit..

Nice, great patina. Never seen the type either.

 

Did you buy this off Ebay? I was looking at something very similar recently, but I did not pull the trigger for some off reason (like maybe budget?). As you say, interesting coin for sure.
