Lance - you be the judge? :) That picture was taken so you could see the details. These pictures were just take with my OTT lites. These show the actual color of the coin. I am sure when you get one it will be as sweet as the rest of your large cents. This one matches nicely with what is around it. You can still see the 3 holes I need to fill on this page. The last 2 or 3 I think I have been the underbidder for an 1804 coin.

Found this in a junk store, a sheet of copper from the Anaconda Mine.

How about a 1798/7, anybody who specializes in early US coppers know what the Sheldon would be on this coin? It looks like it's 5% off center and it's got lots of die cracks on the reverse.

    kookoox10, your 1798/7 overdate is a Sheldon 151. Rarity 3+.
The field Chip below left ribbon is typical. Your example also shows the arc-like crack between the ribbon, numerator and into the leaves quite clearly.
    Nice coin!

Nice ldhair. I need to find my collage of two centers. For some reason today photobucket keeps crashing my IE. Managed to get my last collage of IHC's.

Yes, that is correct. The Encyclopedia of Colonial and Early American Coins actually calls it "with the 1 sharply double struck".
Easy way to distinguish this variety.

Mark, I may never own a decent '99 or a Liberty Cap '93. I envy those who have them.

Is there a "you suck" button around here?

Not as old as some. But older than my grandpa.

Nice '54. My own example of that date is sub-par and I'd like to upgrade it.

Here's a 1798 that's probably my favorite large cent, all things considered:
