1964 Kennedy Half Accented Hair PR68 PCGS So here's my replacement ... yes, it brought me down a fraction of a point in the rankings but I have a nice profit sitting in my savings account. Enjoy! Best Regards,:hail: George 1964 Kennedy Accented Hair PR68 PCGS
Thought I'd share my SP66 SMS too... I've noticed mine has a bit of a rotation for the reverse. What amount of rotation is considered "within norms" and what constitutes an error, or is it not really of any interest?
Mine is rotated about 5 degrees. (just busted out a virtual protractor) I have not idea if this is normal or not, but I would say it "looks" normal.
The Kennedy half dollars in both the 1965 SMS and 1988-P Mint sets are noted for having one set of dies not properly locked in the press. There is not much of a premium unless there is at least a 45 degree rotation either clockwise or counter clockwise. The 1965 SMS Kennedy rotated die is most desirable with either 110 or 150 degree rotation clockwise.
Posted this with its own separate thread but figured you wouldn't mind if i posted it here as well, picked it off eBay........ 1982-P Kennedy Half Dollar PCGS MS64 No fg (not on holder)
