Planned Kingdom of Poland 1916-1918

Surprise, coins are usually issued by governments. Actually the People's Republic issued quite a few silver coins, but this was one of the first pieces. Interesting design too - almost minimalistic, and the two central squares sort of correspond.

The way they count is a little strange, by the way. The 30 years of the PRL start in 1944. But that refers to when the Lublin Committee was established. The name of the country did not change until 1952 ...

Oh, absolutely. With regard to the grosz/y denominations, brass and nickel were replaced by zinc and iron. What I just wanted to point out is that the year alone does not indicate whether a coin was issued by the pre-war or the occupation government ...

I'm not sure if this counts or not? Sigmund iii, king of Poland and duke of Lithuania...but before the official polish-Lithuanian commonwealth...so..this is at least Polish...ish.
