Oh Ok. I got your PM and answered it. I'm going to read up on the info at this "coinnection" and see what that's all about then probably give it a shot tomorrow. Thanks again for the help.

So my problem, such as it is, is that I just bought a new iMac 21-inch Macintosh computer. Is there any software comparable to Photoscape, i.e. cheap or free, that I can use for image manipulation, just basic stuff, crop, rotate, some of the things green18 (and a Tip of the Hat Again to You Sir For an Excellent Tutorial) has talked about, that I can buy for the Macintosh? I just don't want to spend hundreds of dollars when all I need is some basic capability and ability to work with pre-existing jpg files. Thanks for any help ... Mac users?

    Best Regards,

    George

    Take a look here George.........http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pixelbased/tp/freephotoedm.htm

The only one from that list that I've heard of is Gimp. Ruben has sung it's praises in a few older threads.

All of my photos that I have at this point were edited by iphoto. I loved it, but the rotation doohikey was limmeted

Thanks to both areich and mrbrooklyn for pointing me toward gimp.org. But that software looks a little scary to me. It turns out, since I still have a PC laptop, I downloaded the Photoscape software to it. I can edit my jpgs on that and them import them wirelessly via the Wi-Fi home network, so not a lot of manual dumping stuff onto portable USB/thumb drives etc is required.

    Here are my first efforts.

My personal taste is, I like the first two better than the last one, without the frame line and reflection (which somehow came out more fuzzy ... is that normal?) Anyway thanks again to everybody and it looks like I can post here successfully again. Comments? Improvement suggestions?

    Best Regards,

    George

Absolutely! How did you do that? The background is "what came up."
