Interesting coins, Steve. On obverse of this nawanagar coin, one can read the title of it's rulers, "Shri Jam" in nagri legends. The rulers of this state used the title "Jam Sahib". You may recognize one Jam Sahib Sir Ranjitsingh who used to play in Sussex county cricket club and played many matches for Cambridge and England. At the time he was known as the greatest cricket player and Indian cricket board started a first class cricket championship named "Ranji Trophy" after him. After he left Cricket, he went back to India and became the Maharaja of Nawanager. Regards, Ballabh Garg
LOL Kumar Shri Ranjitsinhji I honestly never connected him with "Shri Jam" Or Mr Smith Thanks for bringing it to my attention that (as a cricket fan) makes this little darling slightly more special
