I found a few of these that sound very similar to my 1883 Morgan, but not exactly. They have a slighty different pitch than the 1964 Kennedy, but way different than the 66 Kennedy and 76 Kennedy. ANy idea how much silver (if any) is in the Peso from that year ?

    scottishmoney Buh bye

If they are from the early 1960s they are 10% silver. Mexico has had a long tradition of trying to keep silver in it's coinage, even to the point of debasing coins to the point at which you wonder why bother. They have even circulated $100 coins a few years ago that had a silver centre in them.
