Philly show acquisitions; Floor was quite sparsely populated with OGH Mercs. These three I needed and fell within 10% of my budget, so... now they're mine. Not the highest grades, but all quite nice coins. I'll probably replace 'em down the line, but for now..
Gave up trying to take good pics of 'em, it's a PITA. Check out what I picked up for melt today... there were a few more in the dealers bucket, so I plucked 'em out. The dealer just shakes his head at me when he sees them and tells me that if I didn't spend so much time digging the crap out of his buckets, he'd be charging me more for these coins... 1957 1960 Tough to capture the toning, but they're gorgeous. Picked out 6 total, this is just the obv/rev of two of 'em.
Nothing wrong with that... I've no real places here to grab goodies like that... though I was extra lucky lastnight with that merc proof...
Picked up today for 15.00.. The tone on the obv. is very hard to get a good shot of.. might try a few better shots in daylight.

Finally got good pics (Not great pics, that's a ways off before I figure that out, need a new lens too) of the Mercs, that was tougher than I thought. '36-S (My favorite of the lot) '40 '43-S
Wow, Merc! PCGS "Rattlers"?? I thought you ONLY bought Mercury Dimes in OGH's? Lol. Very nice coins either way. -Brian
They're OGH. They're Old, they're Green, and they're Holders for the coins, OGH. But yeah, two rattlers, and the '43-S is a PCGS 5 according to the Conder guide.
My latest ancient after a year of hunting. For the non ancient collectors, its presumed this cross dressing, make up wearing, pseudo masochist emperor is wearing a Preserved Bulls Pen-is, which is suppose to be the Horn above his head. Some coins have it thicker then others, mine appears to not have taken Viagra ELAGABALUS (218-222 A.D.) AR Denarius Rome mint. Struck 220-222 AD. O: IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate and draped bust right, horn on head. R: SACRED DEI SOLIS ELAGAB, Elagabalus standing right, holding branch (?) and sacrificing from patera over lighted altar; star in right field. RIC IV 131; BMCRE 225 note; RSC 246 19mm 3.5g
Lol, I'm sure we can arrange a mutually agreeable situation. I won't be buying any more Merc dimes for a couple months, so knock yourself out in the meantime. Only way I'm bidding on anything is if it's a tougher date to find in an OGH.
