This is my very favorite. My grandmother sent me one every year for three years in my birthday card starting when I was six years old. I have had them over 60 years. All the gold in Fort Knox could not buy them.
Usual American bias here so I thought I would post some British ones. Then I couldn't pick just one, so here are 4 of my favourites: 1847 Victorian Gothic Crown - one of the handsomest coins ever produced in GB. 1723 George I Crown - I can't say he is pretty, but if you knew how hard I had to fight to get this one...! 1653 Commonwealth Shilling - wonderful interlude in British history represented by this. ~1550 Edward VI Shilling - one the earlier coins to actually represent the character of the monarch, and Edward VI was the youngest head depicted on a GB coin.
My ancient coin of Orbiana. Was a dream coin that I was able to get in 2012. Orbiana (225 - 227 A.D.) AR Denarius O: SALL BARBIA ORBIANA AVG, draped bust right. R: CONCORDIA AVGG,Concordia seated left holding double cornucopia and patera. 19mm 3.8g RIC IV 319, RSC III 1, BMCRE VI 287, SRCV II 8191

Great coin. That Dietz collection was a good group. I packaged the whole thing, so I've looked at them pretty closely. Yours is one of the nicer tetradrachms in the sale.

Man, this kind of thread is always impossible for me. Here are a few of my favorites...at least for today. Who knows what they would be tomorrow. My favorite token, and my avatar: My favorite British coin: My favorite 18th century coin: My favorite medal: My favorite US type coin:
Here's one of my all time favorites, and one of my tokens as well. The gold coin is really rare with only 300 proofs minted. :thumb:
