If a question is never asked, then it can't be dumb because it is not a question until it is asked. There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers! Chris
Exactly just cause I like early dollars trades and toned Morgans and like bud light doesn't make me anymore right or wrong than say someone that collects blast white franklins and drinks fine wine the beauty of this hobby/ business is that you can do whatever makes YOU happy not everyone else!!
I was thinking more of a bully. I love Paul's coins and one of my former coins actually resides in his collection.
Me too, had to look it up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver_of_sulfur My guess is that it's one of the tricks of performing AT.
But it seems to have the opposite effect of what you want: Liver of sulfur is mainly used in metalworking to form a patina, turning copper alloys brown or black. (Wikipedia)
Well, he asked how much we spent on AT coins, so I told him. The liver of sulphur would probably be my biggest cost. The time and labor isn't really that much. I mean, once you know what you're doing.
It is equivalent to Deller's darkener, but not very controllable. AT experts stopped using it decades ago. If one was inclined a local drugstore or Amazon can supply this : http://www.amazon.com/De-La-Cruz-Sulfur-Ointment/dp/B00411B4CC Just use an organic solvent to remove the excess p.s. I do not condone the use on numismatic goods ( nor faces actually)
AT all the way, but honestly, I consider that more coin art than anything. I think that is stunning, and props to the artist. I would certainly buy something like that as a showpiece.
