Ancients - Septimius Severus ID

I have seen a similar coin on wildwinds to this except the lettering is placed differently round the edge of the obverse, can someone please give me a definitive attribution please?

Its similar to RIC 656, but lettering slightly different......

The placement of the PERT on the left means the obverse legend was not the 193 version but one that ended in IMP+ a number. It would require finding a die match to know which. Curtis Clay did a die study on these as a thesis so he could probably tell you but I do not have a copy of this work. Without further information, I'd guess yours is the IMPIII version since the IMPII is less common but that is just a guess. This is my RIC 656 for comparison.

You probably know more than I do, my knowledge is limited to the fact that he looks like Doug (Maybe that's why he collects him?).

 

Or maybe he looks like he does because he collects them, hmmmmm?
