    Ummmm, hey Mat, don't get all jealous that I'm hittin' on one of your chicks ... dude, we're just "friends"

    ... anwyay ...

    Yah, once again, this was another one of today's low-ball trophies!!

    The estimate was $100, but I swooped-in at $80 (which I'm sure that Bing & Doug will state that I "over-paid", but regardless => I attacked and took-down my prey!!)

    => ooooooowww, sweet darlin' => yup, it's another chubby chick with a sweet ol' personality!!

    Rome mint. Struck under Commodus, AD 178-182
    Diameter: 26 mm
    Weight: 11.93 grams
    Obverse: Draped bust right
    Reverese: Juno standing left, holding patera and scepter
    Reference: RIC III 680 (Commodus); MIR 18, 13-7a
    Other: 10h … brown and green patina, bare metal revealed on the high points

    Steve, very nice coin. I'm not crazy about the bare metal showing through because it suggests a harsh cleaning. It's not that I don't like the look of the coin, because it will darken over time, but I'd be worried about BD settling in. Keep an eye on that piece.

    I'd say $80 is about right. I would not pay that much but that may be why I don't have one to show. We each have our favorite coin series. I am not very strong on empresses except for Domna.
