He added our questions and replies to his auction and added to the description. I think he is trying to make it honest.
Well I don't think he's trying to make it honest. He still has it listed as a "RARE 1970 S SMALL DATE PROOF PENNY". Fortunately, the bidder wised up and retracted his bid. LINK
Well, I'm not so sure that anything has been accomplished. It appears he has a new angle on his scam. This time he just doesn't show a close-up of the date. LINK
You think he will e-mail closeups if we ask for them, or will he say "its a small date beacause the dealer who sold it to me says it is."
A bunch of us already emailed him and he would recognize our ID's. Did you email him last time? If not, it would be great if you would. Never mind, I just looked and saw that you did. We need someone who didn't ask him about the last auction or he could cry harassment.
Actually, I did e-mail him about the 70-S, so I am surprised he sent the pic. Susan, I thought you meant y'all had e-mailed about the 60 SD as well, but after re-reading it, I see you did not.
Looks like a Small Date to me, too. Guess I was wrong about this one. I think he's gonna lose some bids though, by not putting the close-up in his item description.
I'm sorry. I thought we were still talking about the 70 SD. The 60 is definitely a small date. Maybe he pulled the 70 SD auction because he decided that we were right and really is trying to be honest.
Who was the genius that decided that by giving something a lower number means that it is bigger? "Low" 7 = "Large" Date #1 wire is larger than #20 12 gauge shotgun is bigger than 20 gauge shotgun Can't things be what they are? Bigger / Smaller?
It's not that lower means it is bigger. It's just that on the variety with the larger date - the top of the 7 is lower in relation to the tops of the other digits in the date than it is on the variety with the small date. That's why they say low 7 - large date.
