I came across a 1936 cent that has the characteristics that I use when searching for varieties from that era. I am pretty sure it is a ddo, but I can't attribute it. Other opinions? Pictures below:

To my eye there is extra thickness on the tail of the"9" and the right side of the loop on the "6", and the square top on the "6". I think there may be a bit of mechanical doubling, but the thickness is still there.

I find that the the right leg on the both of the "R's" tends to be round on the ddo's

Finally, on the ddo's, the left edges of the letters tend to be curved on the "I", especially on the "B", and to a lesser extent on the "ER" ddo's. Note also the extra thickness on the and the "B" and the "E" and, again, the round leg on the "R".

I am seeing extra thickness that could more likely be attributed to circulation wear rather than a class VI DDO...
