Pending Designes for the 2006 nickel..check them out!

The U.S. mint has not yet officially announced a new design for the 2006 nickel obvers, here are some of the pending designs, what do you all think, i like the first one, it kind of reminds me of the original bison obvers.

I'm kind of hoping they'll stay with the one they're using this year. Inventive, clearly coinable in an attractive form (i.e. it doesn't look bad in low relief), and new. All three are rare for the Mint.

I'm with you A-C the top is my 1st pick, the middle one, the head is out of proportion (to big) The bottom must be an older Jefferson.

I like the first one as well. But I wish the hair was different. Too much hair design I guess. Only needs a few squigly lines like in the 1938-2004 so you don't have the "hair fluffs".

I like Number 1 & 3
Number 2 looks like he should have been buried 6 months ago.

I also like the first one, the third one would be ok (though not as good) if they made the motto similar to the first one and got rid of the lines under it.

I like 1 and 3 as well. But in 3, it kinda looks like Jefferson has dreads. And, if I recall the Rastafarian movement hadn't made it's way yet. hehehe

I also like 1 and 3.

Since these are the designs does this mean we can go ahead and start pre-sales of the 6 coin set and mint rolls on Ebay?

BTW, where did you find out that these were the designs to be chosen? I can't find any news story on it.

Sticking to just number 1. #2's flaws have been expressed enough....well ok....to me it looks like his head was stuck on a pike.....with #3 I'm not keen on the inner ring design, I prefer a nice clean open field. The Mona Lisa like smirk on his face is kinda odd too......what's so funny I wonder?

#1. #2 for some reason looks to me like Lincoln, without his beard, dressing up like Jefferson. #3 is too crowded, too busy. #1 has good balance and a strong image.
