Long time collector

I've been collecting coins off an on since the 1950s. I recently dug my old collections out of my safe after a twenty year rest and re-evaluated my coins. I was surprised at what I had been holding on to and how much so many of them had increased in value.

I collect US coins only. I have complete Peace dollar, Franklin halves, Roosevelt dimes sets. I am presently working on Mercury dimes, Barbar halves, Walkers and Trade dollars.

I enjoy going to local coin shows and reading about coins and their history.

Hot, windy and wet

At least we were only brushed by Rita. Now last year was another story. We got hammered four times and lost power for weeks at a time. I guess Ma Nature decided to give us a break this year and pick on Louisiana instead.
