Sweet. I am Army (formerly active duty, now Reserves), my dad was Army, but my grandfather was on a Navy destroyer in WW II. He fought in the Pacific against the Japanese, had a leg mangled when a Kamikazee hit the magazine. He passed away about four months ago.

Thanks for posting all of these wonderful medals with the stories behind them. I was in the Army, 69-71, but I never left the States. I've never seen anything like these before.

My Dad was a combat medic in the 79th Division, 314th Infantry, ETO, Normandy Invasion, Omaha Beach and POW the last four months before VE Day. Dad was one of only two men from the original company to come back alive, and it was about 30-35 years before he even wanted to talk about his experiences. Dad passed in 1997; Mom passed in 2006, and they are both interred at Arlington National Cemetery.

God bless all of you for your service!

    Chris
