Guy told me he'd seen something about it in the Standard Catalogue of World Coins but couldn't remember what it said. A note says that overstrikes on Portugese 10 reis KM#306 exist, but doesn't specify how many. At 32mm it's a pretty hefty coin, listed at $4 VG, $8F, $20 VF and $40 Xf. Unofrtunately, my digital camera is broken at the moment, so I con't yet post a photo, but the coin does indeed measure 32mm, made of copper, and if you saw it, you'd recognize the overstike right away. If you assume that the 10 Reis was struck correctly, the 20 Reis was struck at a 180-degree turn from that. In addition, the obverse of the 10 was overstruck with the reverse of the 20, and the reverse of the 10 has the obverse of the 20.
