1960-1964 silver proof sets

Greetings All,
Please advise why sets from 1960-1964 could have coins in them that could be worth thousands. I was on bidz.com and seen several quotes about buying silver proof sets from 60-64 that could be worth 10,000 grand. I am just curious what it is about the coins that make them that valuable
Thank you,
Bruce

I would have to see the listing to know what they are talking about, but I would guess you are refering to unopened proof sets that could possibly contain Deep Cameo and Ultra Cameo coins. You have to be careful buying "un-opened" proof sets because a lot of them have been open and resealed.

It's advertising baloney - a gimmick, a come on - to get those who don't know any better to bid more for the sets than they are worth.

I do thank you for your replies.I have all four sets and was trying to see what made them worth alot.I looked at them and must admit the kennedy really looks deep cameo to me.I believe that says it all. I do not know much.I do thank you both for your quick replies.
