Mintage Information for Past Proof Sets ?

I am trying to get the mintage numbers for U.S. Proof Sets (Silver & Clad) issued up until 2004. All I get on the Internet are proof coins for sale. I am also interested in the mintage of the various state quarters as certain quarters are almost impossible to get in change and must be purchased. Where can I find mintage lists on the Internet? Thanks.

You can also go to paradisecoin.com and go to proof sets.

Cannot Find Proof Mintages

The US Mint Website lists the Quarter Production for the circulated coins only. I can't find the mintage for the proofs. The mintage numbers used to be listed in coin magazines but now they only list the prices to make purchases.

Silver Quarter Mintage

Neither the US Mint website nor coinfacts.com have the mintage of the US Silver Quarter Proof Sets. In the past, the US Mint would give the mintage of proof sets. Why would the Mint keep the figure a secret from collectors? A small mintage brings excitement to the hobby; not knowing the mintage means the collector doesn't know which sets to go after?

I use the Red Book as a reference for such information. In the 2005 issue the data was at the front of the book page 74 I think. In the 2006 issue "hard cover" it is on page 324. Be careful about using the Red Book as a price guide for purchases, it is a retail guide so cut their price by about half and you be close to the price you want to pay.

Well....I think half is a little too much....sure we all know the Red Book prices are high but I don't think they are that high...

Only Red Book Shows Mintage ?

This is interesting. I can get the mintages of the Proof Sets from the Red Book; yet the publisher must have gotten the mintages from the US Mint. The numbers are not shown on the Mint's website. In effect, collectors must purchase the Red Book to get the production numbers. Why isn't the mintage posted for the public's use?

This is just what I wanted; the mintages for the current US Proof Sets. Thanks for your help. Hope you like the Crater Lake coin.
