Without warning, I simply had to fill in that Whitman Cent folder
I must have come down with a coin OCD. It all started a couple months ago , when from the depths of my son's closet, I unearthed a sparsely filled-in Whitman Lincoln Cent (1959) folder. Was it a rainy day? I'm not sure--but I simply HAD to fill those holes! I dumped a large coffee can full of change in the middle of the floor and sorted out all the pennies. I filled in most of the folder, with the exception of a few "S" mintmarks, and I was happy. A day later, I found a nickel and dime folder, both severly deprived of coins and I HAD to fill those holes, too.
Throughout the years, coins have been given to my kids (now adult) but they never paid much interest in coin collecting. So, I rounded up all the coins that have been hiding in closets, sock drawers, thing drawers, and junk drawers for 20 years. Here are the highlights of what I have found:
1882 CC Morgan Silver Dollar (uncirculated)
1902 O Morgan Silver Dollar
1909 VDB Lincoln Cent
1918 Standing Liberty quarter
1924 Peace Dollar
Some Proof Sets from the early 1990's, Silver Eagles, Eisenhowers, Kennedys, and Commemoratives.
Just recently, my mother-in-law gave me an error coin, a Washington quarter, with a "cud" covering up the date! It is at least 1965, and by the way it is worn down, it is probably from the late 60's. I'll post a picture, maybe one of you can tell me if it is worth anything. See you later!
