Hi All,

Since I am still somewhat of an amateur at identifying error coins, I have come here in hopes that someone can tell me what caused the error on 1930-P Lincoln Cent that I have! As you can see from the pictures, the cent has most of it's rim on the Obverse and Reverse but there is extra metal pushed out outside the rim. The cent is also warped somewhat on the Obverse and heavily warped on the Reverse and it is also slightly out of round. I have searched through my "Price Guide to Mint Errors" book and have been unable to find any coin with a similar error. At first thought, I tended to lean towards some kind of Collar misadjustment to explain the error but that would not explain the warping of the coin. Please help me identify what this error is!!!??

This is an "encased cent" (lucky token cent). A normal cent was squeezed to a smaller diameter as a surrounding ring was struck. The pushed-in rim, abnormally small diameter, and warped surface is characteristic. It is not a mint error.
