Thread: major error

In my collection i have a quarter from 1994 its missing a 4 but the whole coin surface has a strong strike.Whats its worth???

If the 4 is missing how do you know it is a 1994? Without seeing it this sounds like a grease filled die, fairly common and not worth much of a premium

A quarter, just a strike through grease or another substance. Often a portion of the die will fill with grease or metal shavings.

Worth face, the die was not grease filled on this coin, nor is it a major error, just worn a bit

The 4 is not missing,I can see it in the photo without any enlargement,just worn. I've got pennies with no dates or mintmarks and truely missing entire parts,they arn't worth much,couple of bucks.
