Washington State Quarter

I was browsing around the WA state website the other day and found out that design submisions for the state quarter end on 7/31. I was trying to think of an design but couldn't think of anything good except for Mt. St. Helens. Then it hit me- why not put the state seal on the reverse!

Or maybe just the picture of Washington. How cool would that be- Washington on the obverse and reverse? To the best of my knowledge no other coin has the same person on the front and back.

I'd go with Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. And lots of Douglas firs.

I miss Seattle.

That's a great idea. You gotta love that view of the mountain when you are at the top of Rainier Avenue headed south- gorgeous.

I'll bet you have several in your pocket at this very moment. Take a close look at the reverse of a Lincoln Memorial cent. The statue of Honest Abe inside the Memorial is visible between the pillars at the center of the coin .

I should have thought about about the cent and others.

It was just a thought that it would be 'numismatically' interesting to see Washington's mug prominent on both sides... who knows.

Under enough magnification, you might also see Jefferson waving out of the window at Monticello.

Now that I think of it, State Seals should have been State Quarters Reverse. No offense, Tenn Quarter~Lamest looking Guitar thing reverse of a quarter~ give me a day or 3, I will dis most of the state quarters reverse.
I like your Rev State Seal idea, TRVST, Too late now for State Seals.

Well, I guess I tried to float a lead balloon on this one. I suppose my idea for a one year dime issue of 5 different types (Draped Bust, Capped Bust, Seated, Barber, and Mercury) would float just as well... and it might be hard for the mint to squeeze it into a set with 5 quarters, 4 pennies and 4 presidential dollars.
