Introduction

Howdy. This is Marshall. Just introducing myself as suggested.

I've been collecting since the mid sixties before I was 10 and have gone through several phases of collecting. I'm pld enough to have actually found Indians in circulation and quite a few Buffalos. Silver was still a frequent find and a nice little collection could be put together from coins in circulation.

Then Virg Marshall (add) showed me the way to actually spending money to get coins I couldn't find. I would save my allowance for weeks to get low grade S mintmark coins I couldn't find or to get the book I Lincolns which were hard to come by. He must have had the patience of a saint to out together a $5 order of the lowest grade coins he advertised.

Anyway, I went through several stages of stopping and selling my coins and then starting up again. I finally settled on focusing in on early date large cents. After doing this for a while, I expanded into middle dates when I was fortunate enough to spend an evening talking coins with John Wright as a guest of him and his lovely wife and was able to get his Cent Book on middle dates.

In the late nineties, while the price of Gold had fallen to reasonable levels, I also started collecting types and mints in Gold. The last item on my list is a Dahlonega mint coin.
