Question New Member Collecting for Grandsons

Hi - I'm very new to the coin world , but very intrigued. I have purchased several American Silver Eagles for each of my young grandsons and have hopes of completing a collection for each of them. Are there to be no 2010 Silver Eagles?

There will be 2010 Silver Eagles.

Make sure that your grandson's are into coin collection before giving them "their" collection.

I dont want to hear another story about a teenager buying a big mac with a silver eagle.

Really? Just no proofs, right? Or was that just '09.

The mint says they will make proofs in 2010 if they have available planchets.

So nobody really knows if there will or will not be 2010 silver eagle proofs.

Thanks so much for responses. I learned that you can subscribe at the US Mint for 2010 Silver Eagles - none will be minted during 2009. I have been sticking to MS69 First Strikes and I don't know when/if those will be offerred. The coins are currently in my daughter's capable hands - the boys are 2 and 3 (I know, she's crazy, but they are so beautiful) - and will not be given the option to "spend" them. I once spent a beautiful, old Morgan silver dollar that my grandpa gave me on SweetTarts!!!

I'm working on a proof ASE set. VERY beautiful coins for the money. I need about 13 more of them and then I will move on to something else. I have all of the most expensive ones already except for the '95W. I have all of the statehood quarters in silver proofs as well. They really shine! lol I'm gonna save up for some gold, maybe a proof buffalo.
