Two things are important here. How close to a coin show are you and what type of vehical do you drive. The reason is if a coin show is over 50 miles and you drive an SUV, then the $50 is already shot in gas so when you get to the coin show, all you can do is look.
Not sure why people always ask what they should collect. In most instances I've noticed people just end up doing or buying what they wanted all the time anyway. If I said buy a pile of Mercury Dimes and you don't collect them and you ended up buying Morgan Dollars, so why ask? Of course it is nice to hear how many are really interested in your future.
