SF Mint Film Clip - 1940

This was posted on another forum.
Take a look at this. A 1940 tour of San Francisco with a view inside the Mint showing production underway. The mint segment starts at about 3:47 into the piece

An interesting and enjoyable travel clip. The Mint was certainly busy when they filmed it.

That was the new mint around Church/Duboce sts. & Market st. The Old Mint, where the SF Coin show will be held is at 5th st. and Mission st. right off Market st. A lovely neighborhood.

But, I'll be there manana.

Classic footage of SF. When I lived there '71-'94 things changed a bit but the true essence of the city is still there. It's my favorite city of all time. Thanks for the memories. I'll be going there tomorrow for the SF Mint Coin Show.

Good catch, and did you see 4 press operators each attending a separate press. I thought one person watched more than one press.

Great clip. Imagine taking a trip back in time to that era and what you could find in ordinary change.
