LN6 Delimea "what to do"

I received two of my three LN6 sets today. Pleased with the first one, but the second had some issues with a coin. The fourth penny, I think its called the presidency has some tone to it. To be honest it is as red as blood. It is on the tower of the capital building and does not look natural at all. SO now the questions. I have always intended on flipping two of the sets and keeping one for my self. THis set with the toned coin. Do I sell it claiming that it is as the Mint sent it, which it is, and offer a refund, or do I try to describe it and let the buyers know up front and take a beating in auction? Second can you open the capsules that the coins are in. Been thinking about buying a proof set and using the fourth coin out of it in the LN6, but how do I open the capsule up? Thoughts? I have not been very impressed with the Mint on this order. They set me two mint sets when I ordered one, and one of them had coins out of place when I opened it. The second set is a mistery as to how it showed up, but it did.

Just sell the one set you don't like and describe it accurately. And if you can get a good photo, then even better. Depending on how it looks, some folks might even pay more for toning. My cents in my set had a little tone to them as well. I'm guessing it's pretty common on these sets and on the 95% 2009 cents in general. The Mint even issued a notice with the Mint sets that the copper will tone.

True, I bet twenty years from now the majority of the sets will have some kind of toning on them.

In order for a cent to tone which I gather from my fellow CT'ers is a chemical reaction, does it need air?

Tater, my #4 cent has issues also. While not all red, it looks as if it was splattered with blood spots. It is not real noticeable except at an angle with an 8X loupe. Reminds me of milk spots, but more reddish. I too was wondering if the capsules could be opened.

Best to describe it accurately and put a photograph. There are buyers out there who would not mind such an artifact. Keep the set original.

Yes. Most capsules are not 100% air tight.

Unless you have a completely DUST FREE environment (which I doubt) what you'll get if you do open the capsules and replace the coin or coins, is a whole lot of lint and dust particles captured in with the coin and it doesn't look good at all!! You could try a quick vacuuming of the coin and open capsule before closing it immediately!
