Question olddusty

Hi, I am thinking about bidding on a WW2 U.S. Lincoln Cent Shell Casing Collection dating 1944-1946. I haven't the slightest idea what it is worth or if there is any value.

I am a retired grandmother, married to the same man for 45 years. I live in Wisconsin close to the cheesehead city.

welcome to CT. I'll be honest I don't know what it would be worth, but I am sure someone will stop in and give you a price. Can you give us a link or photos it would help.

Welcome to CT!

Is this the WW2 U.S. Lincoln Cent Shell Casing Collection you're referring to? ...six (6) circulated WWII era cents in a history card. It looks like it could be a fun item for grandkids to look at (and a good cause...I would gladly donate $$ to Goodwill!), but don't think it's worth much as a collectible (imho)...sorry.

Welcome to CoinTalk. When talking about the value of collectable coins the condition of the coins is everything. For example, Lincoln cents dated 1944-46, a total of 9 coins. One from the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints for each year. In average circulated condition they have a retail value of about 10 to 15 cents each. Totaled that would be $.90 to $1.35 total. If they were in pristine uncirculated condition they would be worth upwards of $35.00 to $40.00 or so.

That being said, that series of cents are a piece of history, that some of us can remember finding those in everyday use.

Guess what? Yakpoo hit it right on the head. It is from "shopgoodwoll.com". If anyone hasn't heard of it before try it. It is run very much like ebay. Thanks for all the help but I didn't think it was worth anything.
