Question on one cent

hey everone,

I am going to a auction tomorrow and there is a lot of cents. I noticed one cent witch is a 1957 has the 7 farther away then normal. I cant seem to figure out how that could happen or if this is just normal.

Sorry no pictures as I dont have the coin

Thanks

Is there just one 7, or is there a 7 with a shadow 7?

Well I cant show you but I have gone trough many of these cents and it stood out. I would say almost the size of the letter it self. Like you could add another 7.

Rockdude thank you I think that what I was looking at is the same as the one you are showing. But the seven is not that far away as you ilistrate.

I guess my mind was a little to exited. I have been told that the far seven is common.

Thanks again for you help

That's a technical question and the only way I can answer it is to say 'I use Paint'. If that makes sense then good. If not then ask again.
Sometimes this computer stuff overwhelms me.

Really? because I was going to say that a "far 7" is impossible. All the dies come from the same master hub and the date is on that master hub so the spacing on all the digits on every 1957 is the same (with very slight variations due to die polishing.) so if one had a "far 7" they would ALL have to be "far 7"'.

All cents from 1957 seem to have this far away 7, I could have seen that my self in my bucket of cents Itīs funny how your mind goes blank when you see something and you think itīs something you have never seen before.

Thanks everyone for you help
