The Constitution Series

This Constitutional Series was issued in 1976 to celebrate the 200th. Anniversary of the United States .The shields of arms of each is intaglio printed from the original dies.

Intaglio print to follow in next post.

I was considering using it for my next presentation until I realized how many engravers it took to engrave each individual state seal, the biographies would be a mile long.

Noost,I use to collect "Souvenir Card" for the Vignettes in fact Mellone's Photo Encyclopedia of Souvenir Cards uses it in lithograph as cover (not intaglio). If you want one look for SO card # B117 ANA 1988 (American Numismatics Association Convention 1988 Spider Press State Shield (Blue) Cincinnati,Ohio July 20-24,1988.These Intaglio Spider press vignettes were hand pulled one @ a time from the original dies. You have to see it & feel the impressions of the raised images to fully appreciate the intaglio printed vignettes.

Holy cow! I guess I missed this the first go-round, thanks for reposting the image, connor. That's a seriously busy piece of artwork
