rotflol! That was funny.

As far as the letter goes, I see what you are talking about, but I have no clue what it is. Maybe a die chip?

Hi,

You won't want to necessarily hear this but...It's another case of some extraneous mark or damage that happens to look like a shape, convincing you that it is something other than an extraneous mark caused by almost anything.

It isn't anything worthwhile.

Thanks,
Bill

After a night to sleep on it. it does look like a grampas hat!! also it cant be a letter (b) because it is a small (b). But really, dosnt it look like something? maybe a (9). how about the rest of the coin ? looks like a die clash. on the jacket

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!! That was the best!

Yeah I don't think you have anything here, at least not anything worth investing much time into. For stuff like that I have a coin roll for "Misc. Errors", might make it in there... might not...

Most likely just a worn die.but what maybe rarer is finding a MS-67/68RD for 1978.

Jello,

I hate to ask...but what are you talking about? Whatever that mark is plus the circulation wear wouldn't put this coin anywhere near MS 67, let alone MS-68. This coin wouldn't even make MS-60....I am just trying to figure out how the comment makes any sense at all.

Thanks,
Bill

The hat shape that is on the base of the coin to the right of VDB and in worn our die in 1978 do not command any $$$.
and that MS67RD or MS68RD are the rarer coin to find
