I'm new to PM collecting / investing. I got into it quite by accident.
A couple of weeks ago, a friend was having to sell his AGEs and ASEs to cover his bills. He went the a dealer who offered him spot. He called me and told me the deal. I offered to pay him the same as the dealer. Rather than to a stranger, he sold me the coins.
I've since bought some ASEs and rounds from Lear Capitol (pretty good price if you use the free shipping coupon). Otherwise, they're not the best price.
Just yesterday I bought a handful of .999 commemorative bars for $18 each (.30 over spot?). I bought them off of craigslist so I'm hoping I did OK.
Now I'm looking around, trying to see if I got a good deal on the bars (I know I made out in the ASEs) and trying to gain some knowledge.
I'm not a coin collector but I may start putting pre 1964 coins in a jar...
Any help or advice will be really appreciated!
