| Stolen Errors Recovered
Was reading a small article in Error Trends coin magazine, by Fred Weinburg. In 2001, 40 coins were stolen from a hotel room, 12 of these coins were recovered at an estate sale. Here is a list of some of the coins recovered; Standing Liberty Quarter Struck on a cent, Walking Liberty Half Struck on a nickel, 1899 Indian Cent Struck over a Struck 1899 Barber Dime, 1936 Buffalo Nickel on a silver dime, and a 1944-S Wash. Quarter Struck on a Steel Cent Planchet. Thought this was interesting and would share it with those who don't get Error Trends mag.. Personally, if I were a thief, I wouldn't steal something that is probably one of a kind, and try to sell it.
