Or just a bag mark? One could be rare but the other deffinitley

i dont think its a bag mark i think its corrosion for the mushroom gills but im not sure about the slash on face

Skull, I have been trying to scan a Roosevelt dime with a new scanner.

What I saw on one of the closeups were what you described as "gills". And they went all the way around the coin - in the lettering also.

I've posted a pic of that closeup. The "Slash" I'm still not sure about, but I do know this dime has other "cud-like" items on it ( right by the eye / crows foot area ).

I have never looked that close a Roos before, but it will most probably turn out to be nothing at all or normal for that type or that mint/die set. Maybe in your case also.

You might try posting in the Coin Chat forum here - more people watching and very anxious...
