| Hello from Tucson
Hi all...
I've been lurking here since the coin collecting bug bit me a few weeks ago. I probably don't need another hobby, but for now it's all I can think of.
It started when I was talking to a couple guys at work about what our dollar is backed with now...which lead me to an interest in silver as a hedge (can't afford gold) which led to an interest in the value of the metal in older coins vs. the value of a paper dollar...
I think the older the coins are, the better I like them! The designs of the late 1800's sure had some beautiful detail compared to our modern coins, I think. But I do like the Westward Journey nickels-- a big reason being the worth of the metal of the nickel vs. the clad coins.
OK, enough about me. This site seems to have some great people willing to impart their knowledge..that's why I'm here!
