Hi everyone

I'm Dr Luis Dias.

I'm not (yet) a coin collector. I've gotten interested in numismatics as I happen to live in a building in Goa India that once was a Mint (Casa da Moeda 1834-1841).

As it's 175 yrs (1834-2009) this year, we're having a little festival 8-10 November to celebrate it, a sort of birthday party for the house. I began to read up and do research about it; even began to study Portuguese to better understand what has been written about it, and made a trip to Lisbon Portugal to meet with Casa da Moeda officials there, who were very helpful, and are supporting our endeavour.

We have a 3-day festival planned. Our keynote speaker will be noted numismatist Fenelon Rebello, who will be speaking on 9 Nov. The rest of the festival focuses on other aspects of the house. However, I shall be displaying the information I've collected from my research, at the festival.

Best wishes,

Luis
