Is this an error? I just recieved my silver proof set from the mint and the Samoan .25 has a "ghost" o. I've never seen an error in a proof set ..heard of die cracks but to have just an outline of the "o" in Samoa I am shocked. Is this an isolated incident and should I have this coin graded by NGC..Since it is a Silver Proof and almost, if not definately a DCameo-69(dare I say 70), the error is easily recognized and observed......Any thoughts suggestions..how rare is this occurance. Error proof coins are sought after by many collectors because they are proofs and you should'nt have any flaws on them. They don't command a great premium. Most people view them as proof coins that should be sent back for a replacement. Most likely cost more than the coin is worth. As far as being rare that is in the eye of the beholder and should be treated that way. Some people collect these type of errors and some can care less. The best thing to do is to check Ebay and Heritage to see what this type of error are going for and then decide what you to do with it.
